Shift Perception

As Nietzsche once said, “There are no facts, only interpretations.” Perception is how one analyzes their environment. Do you see yourself as the victim or as the hero? The role you perceive will influence your thoughts, behaviors, and interactions with others. Shift perception and your outer reality will adjust to align with your belief.

People experiencing victim consciousness perceive life to be governed by external forces. They maintain no control over their life or the circumstances endured. It is easier to assign blame and shame to others, rather than to accept their role in creating such experiences. “Why does this happen to me” is a repetitive mantra of victim consciousness. The mind is full of fear, doubt, and judgements. Without an intervention, this cycle of unfortunate events will continue. Self exploration opens the possibility to see things from a new perspective.

A hero’s consciousness acknowledges the presented obstacles. Rather than causing them to retreat, the obstacle serves as a catalyst for action amongst the chaos.  Change is not feared, but is accepted. When an obstacle appears, there is an opportunity to learn and to evolve the trajectory of one’s life. “I am one with the world around me” is the mantra of a hero. The affirmation of alignment sheds fears, self doubt, and other paralyzing false narratives.  Where the victim focuses only on the eye of the needle, the hero has a bird’s eye view. The hero becomes inspired to be a conscious creator of their outer reality.

During challenging times, we often beseech guidance from an outer source. Searching for answers, for peace of mind, for hope. The outer world will only provide temporary moments of relief. The only constant in life is the presence of your inner self. Take this opportunity to explore the inner you. Do you dwell at times in victimhood or can you elevate into a hero? All that is required is a willingness to create a shift in perception.
